We are a group of dedicated volunteers concerned about the threats of climate change and the effect it will have for our future and our children’s future. Since we began in 2007, we have been at the forefront of climate activism in Keswick and wider Cumbria. We continue to learn about our environment and the possibilities for a better future.

The projects and campaigns that we deliver work towards our 3 main goals to reduce carbon emissions, improve biodiversity and reduce waste. We believe we need to do what we can to try and live in a manner that is sustainable both for the planet and the millions of other species with which we share it. We have a core group which meets monthly to coordinate our activities, as well as over 165 people our mailing list and many more followers on social media. We hold regular 'Green Get Togethers' for our supporters comprising a range of activities including talks and films, and we regularly write articles on informative topics for the Keswick Reminder.

On the last Wednesday of the month we host a Climate Cafe at the Quaker Meeting House which is also home to our community Eco Car Club vehicle. Our volunteers look after several wildlife sites around Keswick, including Elizabeth's Wood in Fitz Park, Springs Road Flood Basin and wildflower meadows at Borrowdale Road roundabout and Manor Brow.

In 2025 we hosted our first community apple day event at Springs Road, which we hope to replicate in future years. We also work with local schools wherever possible. We are a member of the Cumbria Sustainability Network which enables us to engage with other similar groups from around the county and benefit from each other's experience and support. We also have strong links with Cumbria-based sustainability charity 'Futureproof Cumbria', helping Keswick residents to access home energy, retrofit and renewables advice.
